Delete your Twerll account

Applies to the Twerll app and app.twerll.com  ·  Updated August 29, 2026

In short:

You can delete your Twerll account from inside the app, or by emailing us. Your account is disabled and signed out everywhere immediately, and permanently deleted 30 days later. Agreements you signed with other people, and the evidence records that prove them, stay with those people. Everything below explains exactly which is which.

How to delete your account

From the app

  1. Open Twerll and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
  4. Read what will be deleted and what will be kept, then tap Continue.
  5. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete my account.

For your security you may be asked to sign in again first. Your account is frozen the moment you confirm.

By email, if you cannot sign in

Email legal@twerll.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We may need to verify it is really you before we act, and we will confirm when the deletion is scheduled.

Changed your mind? During the 30 days before permanent deletion, email legal@twerll.com and we can stop it. Once the 30 days pass, the deletion cannot be undone. You cannot cancel it from the app, because deleting the account signs you out and blocks sign-in straight away.

What is kept, and why

Twerll records agreements between people. When you sign something, the other party holds a record too, and that record has to keep working after you leave. This is set out in section 17 of our Terms.

DataWhy it is keptHow long
Agreements you sent or signed, and their audit records (including the name, email address, timestamp, and IP address recorded at signing) These are shared records. The other parties rely on them to prove what was agreed. Removing the signer's name would leave a signature that proves nothing. As long as reasonably necessary for those parties and for legal compliance
Evidence you sealed, and its chain-of-custody ledger The ledger is hash-chained over the identity of whoever created each entry, so it cannot be anonymized without destroying the proof for whoever holds the file. As long as reasonably necessary for those parties and for legal compliance
Your messages in shared conversations and rooms They stay readable for the other participants, with your name and photo replaced by "Deleted user". As long as the conversation exists
Your username Retired permanently and never given to anyone else, because certificates and links issued earlier may still refer to it. Indefinitely
A one-way hash derived from your email address and account ID, plus whether the account was suspended and why So an account suspended for abuse cannot be deleted and immediately registered again. It cannot be reversed to recover your email address, and is used for nothing else. Indefinitely
Payment and billing records, if you ever paid for Twerll Pro Required by tax and accounting law. As required by law
Reports filed about your account by other users They are the reporting user's record, and a moderation history that disappears on request is not a moderation history. As long as reasonably necessary

Backups may hold residual copies for a limited additional period before they age out.

Anyone can still verify a document

Verification does not depend on your account. A certificate or sealed file can be checked at app.twerll.com/verify using the document itself, and that check reports only that a seal exists and when it was made. It never reveals who owns it. Deleting your account does not break anyone's ability to verify what you signed, and does not expose you either.
